Novel compounds represented by the general formula [I] wherein R<1> and R<4> are each independently hydrogen, lower alkyl, or the like; R<2> and R<3> are each independently lower alkoxy or lower alkyl; R<5> is lower alkyl or aralkyl, any of which may be optionally substituted; R<6> is hydrogen or lower alkyl; X is O, S or NH; m is an integer of 0 to 3; n is an integer of 0 or 1; and Ar is phenyl or heteroaryl, any of which may be optionally substituted]. The compounds exhibit orexin receptor antagonism and are useful in the treatment of appetite disturbance, obesity, sleep disorder and so on.
