An abrasive article (10) made from a plurality of abrasive composites (20) bonded to form a three dimensional abrasive article. Each abrasive composite (20) includes a plurality of primary abrasive particles (30) bonded together by a first binder matrix (34) to form a shaped or irregular abrasive composite. Present within the abrasive composite (20) is an intra-composite porosity between and among the primary abrasive particles. Inter-composite porosity is present within the abrasive article (10) between and among the abrasive composites (20). The abrasive article (10) is used to grind glass a nd other workpiece surfaces to a mirror finish.
