The multimedia providing system has servers 4A, 5B, and 6C capable of transmitting multimedia content on the Internet 7, a conversion server 1 capable of obtaining the multimedia content and retransmitting it to the outside of the Internet 7, and a terminal 2 capable of obtaining the retransmitted multimedia content and providing a user with it for use. The conversion server 1 comprises a first access means for accessing the servers 4A, 5B, and 6C through the Internet 7, a first obtaining means for obtaining markup language and multimedia content from the servers 4A, 5B, and 6C, a converter means for converting the markup language and multimedia content obtained by the first obtaining means into a format suitable for communication with the terminal 2, and a transmitter means for retransmitting the markup language and multimedia content converted by the converter means, to the terminal 2. The terminal 2 comprises a second access means for accessing the servers 4A, 5B, and 6C through the conversion server 1, a second obtaining means for obtaining the retransmitted markup language and multimedia content, and display means for displaying the multimedia content obtained by the second obtaining means in accordance with the markup language obtained by the second obtaining means. <IMAGE> |
