PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for olefin polymerization that has a high activity and makes it possible to efficiently manufacture an olefinic polymer, particularly a highly stereoregular isotactic polypropylene, and to provide a method for manufacturing an olefinic polymer using the catalyst. SOLUTION: This catalyst for olefin polymerization comprises (A) a transition metal complex represented by general formula (1), (B) a complex comprising an organic or inorganic group and (C) an organic aluminum compound. An olefin is polymerized in the presence of the catalyst.
