PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound contained in dried powder of leaves of Psidium guajava L. of the genus Psidium of the family Myrtaceae or an essence extracted from the dried powder with a solvent, having a treating effect on allergic diseases. SOLUTION: This benzophenone glycoside is represented by chemical formula (I). This sesquiterpene-based substance is represented by chemical formula (III). This flavonoid-based substance is represented by general formula (IV). This antiallergic agent contains the benzophenone glycoside, the sesquiterpene-based substance or the flavonoid-based substance.
