PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road surface friction coefficient detector capable of obtaining aμvalue required for the control of a vehicle. SOLUTION: According to detected accelerator openingθa (step S1), target deceleration EBA(t) is computed (steps S3-S6). After imparting braking torque (step S7), theμvalue is detected on the basis of a slip state and actual deceleration Gy(t) (step S8-S11).
