PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a malfunction in the case of boiling rice or keeping warmth by detecting the forgotten mounting of a radiator plate. SOLUTION: An electric rice cooker is provided with the radiator plate 16, mounted detachably on the under surface of a cover 2, for closely sealing an opening of a rice vessel 6 in the case of opening the cover 2 and a radiator plate heating means (a shoulder heater 14) for heating the radiator plate 16. A temperature detecting means (a shoulder sensor 17), a radiator plate detecting means, and an announcing means are annexed to the electric rice cooker. The temperature in the vicinity of the shoulder heater 14 is detected by the temperature detecting means (the shoulder sensor 17). The forgotten mounting of the radiator plate 16 is detected by the changing condition of the detection temperature detected by the shoulder sensor 17. The forgotten mounting of the radiator plate 16 is announced by the announcing means in the case where the forgotten mounting thereof is detected by the radiator plate detecting means. In summary, the forgotten mounting thereof is detected by the changing condition of the temperature in the vicinity of the shoulder heater 14 in order to be announced by the announcing means.
