PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toothbrush having sufficient strength against the fall of bristles without causing the breaking and whitening of a head part when setting a flat line while using the generally used bristles of circular cross section, and moreover heightened in bristling density to allow powerful scraping of plaque. SOLUTION: In this flat line bristling type toothbrush wherein bristles in the bundled state are folded in two and fixed being planted together with the flat line 1 into each bristling hole 3 of a head part 2, the flat line 1 is set to almost bisect the area of the bristling face of the bristling hole 3 of the head part 2, and the area dividing ratio S1:S2 in the almost bisected bristling hole 3 is in a range of (1:0)-(1:1.3). The flat line 1 set in the bristling hole 3 of the head part 2 has a flat line angleθin at least three directions, and the shortest distance L between the adjacent bristling holes 3 is set into a range of 0.2 mm to 1.0 mm.
