The invention relates to a cable branch terminal, which encircles a master cable, for connecting the conductors of the master cable to the conductors of a branch cable. According to the invention, the novel branch terminal is comprised of two U-shaped housing parts consisting of the upper and the lower yoke arch (1.1, 1.2) for forming the terminal housing or terminal ring (1). For a 4-wire master cable, four contact pieces (2), which are provided with teeth and/or tooth cutting edges and whose tooth faces are turned toward the cable sheathing of the master cable that is encircled by the terminal ring, are arranged in the plane of and inside the terminal ring (1). Terminal bodies (3) for connecting the conductors of the branch cable are each connected in an in-line manner to said contact pieces (2), which are provided with teeth and/or tooth cutting edges and which are provided for connecting to the conductors of the master cable. This in-line arrangement of contact pieces (2) and terminal bodies (3) ensues in the direction of the run of the cable and thus leads to the terminal bodies, which are provided for connecting the branch cable, being arranged outside of the terminal ring (1), whereby permitting a small overall height of the terminal ring. |
