PURPOSE: A method for tracking the welding line of a rotary arc automatic welding system is provided to improve welding quality and reduce welding input time by effectively removing noise of input data using Kalman filtering technique, thereby providing a welding line tracking method of the rotary arc automatic welding system accurately tracking the welding line. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the processes of sampling current and voltage during rotation of the electrode of a welding torch, and receiving input current and voltage data(ST101,ST103); matching each of electrode rotation positions for the inputted current and voltage data by storing pulse values of a rotary motor rotating the electrode(ST102,ST104); removing noise by filtering the inputted current and voltage data with a Kalman filter, and calculating a compensation amount from the obtained voltage and current data(ST105,ST106,ST107); and tracking a welding line with a welding torch by compensating the torch position as much as the calculated compensation amount(ST108).
