PURPOSE: A device and method for helping an Internet information search is provided to enable a user to input an elaborated search word and to search wanted information easily and rapidly by recommending words to be appended to the search word when the initial search word is inputted. CONSTITUTION: A screen display unit(10) displays a search interface screen receiving a search word and a search executing command and a search helper screen providing words to be appended in preparing a search word. A search helper server(60) searches a help related to the search word received from the search helper screen and transmits the help to the search helper screen. A search helper document file(50) includes a search helper information unit designating a displaying form of the search helper screen and a search helper server calling unit requesting a help to the search helper server(60). A search interface document file(40) includes a search helper information unit having search helper screen displaying information and position information of the search helper document file(50) and a search interface information unit designating a displaying form of the search interface screen. A web browser(20) takes the search interface document file(40) and the search helper document file(50) and displays the search interface screen and the search helper screen. A web server(30) outputs the search interface document file(40) and the search helper document file(50) to the web browser(20) in accordance with a request of the web browser(20).
