PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a short fiber reinforced elastomer composition for a transmission belt having improved abrasion resistance and excellent resistance to bending fatigue at room and low temperatures because of having a high modulus at high temperatures and causing a small deformation against lateral pressure, and to provide the transmission belt. SOLUTION: This short fiber reinforced elastomer composition for a transmission belt comprises at least an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer and short fibers wherein a storage elastic modulus after vulcanization in the direction of orientation of the short fibers at 120 deg.C is 46% or more of the storage elastic modulus at 25 deg.C.
