FUEL TANK ARRANGEMENT STRUCTURE FOR SCOOTER TYPE MOTORCYCLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel tank arrangement structure for a scooter type motorcycle that can increase the degree of freedom of the shape and dimensions of a fuel tank and thus increase the capacity of the fuel tank. SOLUTION: This scooter type motorcycle is so constructed that a portion under a seat 18 is covered with a body cover 24 of resin and that a fuel tank 26 is housed in the body cover 24. An arched handle standing 27 enclosing the rear portion of the seat 18 is attached to a seat rail frame (body frame) 10 via a bracket 31, so that the handle standing 27 and the seat rail frame 10 form a space opening to the body rear. The fuel tank 26 is arranged in the space. The formation the space opening to the body rear by the handle standing 27 and the seat rail frame 10, and the arrangement of the fuel tank 26 in the space can prevent an interference of the fuel tank 26 with another member and ensure high flexibility of the shape and dimensions of the fuel tank 26 to thereby increase the capacity of the fuel tank 26.
