PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for molding a tire which can maintain the alignment of a drum spindle, remove an influence by the torsion of a turret driving shaft, and control the rotation of the turret accurately. SOLUTION: The apparatus 10 has an external support part and direct drives 26, 28 which eliminate the torsion of the driving shaft for rotating the turret to enable the precise positioning of drums 36, 38. Drum driving shafts 42, 54 are installed in a rotatable turret frame 22, and the elongation of the drum driving shafts is allowed to minimize the movement in the axial direction of the drums 36, 38 in relation to the frame. Adjustable drum shaft bearings 56, 58 are provided to position the drum driving shafts in the turret frame so that the precise molding of tires on the drums is guaranteed.
