PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow string type dialyzer or a hollow string type dialyzing filter for blood purification process, or the like, that is improved in flowing condition of dialysate that flows outside part of the hollow string and is enhanced in transfer efficiency of a material, in the hollow dialyzer or the hollow dialyzing filter used for blood purification, or the like, as an artificial organ. SOLUTION: A hollow string membrane packed in the hollow string type dialyzer or the hollow string type dialyzing filter removes materials in blood by allowing the blood to flow the inner part of the hollow string and the dialysate to flow its outside part. A tracer is poured into the inlet of dialysate under the dialyzate flow rate of Qd (ml/sec) and under the practical quantity of filtration flow being 0. The flowing condition of tracer is measured in the outlet of dialysate at the same time in order to measure residence time distribution curve of the tracer in the dialysate flowing part in the dialyzer or dialyzing filter. The space-time valueτ(sec) obtained by the analysis of the residence time distribution curve using (formula 1) is characteristically 115% or more of V/Qd (sec) that is calculated from the volume of the dialysate flowing part (ml) of the dialyzer and the dialyzate flow rate of Qd (ml/sec).
