PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planographic printing plate capable of obtaining an image with high resolution, easy to handle, having good preservability and good printing property and capable of directly outputting from a computer. SOLUTION: An image forming layer consisting essentially of heat meltable fine particles, a water-soluble resin and a thermally decomposable material is disposed on a base with a hydrophilic layer and imagewise heated. The heated part of the image forming layer is fixed on the surface of the base and the unheated part is removed with water.
