Equipment for handling a mold has a lifting ring with housing(s) for part of a mold. A closure for the housing has a piece extending near to the ring and prevents it operating when the closure is open. The equipment may be a bar with two housings and the closure is two sliding L-shaped elements connected by a spring biasing them to their closed positions. In their open position each of the elements obscures a different part of the ring
