PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a high quality image by compensating for a voltage drop which depends on the wiring resistance of an electron source having plural cold cathode type emission elements wired in a matrix form. SOLUTION: The resistance values of the voltage supply lines among a display panel 101 having an electron source, where plural cold cathode type emission elements are arrayed in a matrix form by pleural row and columnar direction wirings and an image forming means for forming an image according to the electrons emitted from the electron source; row drive circuits 102 where plural drive circuits 104 each for driving two or more columnar direction wiring are arranged in the direction of row, and drive the cold cathode type emission elements via the plural columnar direction wirings responsive to image signals, and which sequentially select the row direction wiring responsive to the column driving and apply driving voltages thereto; and column drive circuits which supply voltages to the plural drive circuits 104 from the opposite side of the drive voltage applied by the row drive circuits 102 and are positioned at both ends, are almost equalized to the resistance value of the row direction wiring.
