PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance aid system for a video processing unit where a remote management center can collectively acquire information required for maintenance altogether. SOLUTION: The remote management center monitors whether devices in a video processing system are faulty ad collects information required for the repair on the occurrence of a fault. The remote management center collects connection and setting information of the devices in the video processing system and information with respect to operating states of them periodically or as required and records the information as history information to a history storage database 11, and collates and retrieves the information on the occurrence of the fault and the history information with contents of a fault cause database 12. Furthermore, the remote management center can reproduce operations in the fault state, by using a reproducing device (not shown). In addition, the remote management center has an interactive function with an operator in the video processing system, a switching function for operation entries, and a capture function of a static image of a video unit in the video-processing system. A public line network 9 can be replaced with the Internet.
