摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a coordinate position by which resolution can be improved and operability can be improved by shortening a time required for coordinate detecting and a display device using this method. SOLUTION: An optical path constituted between each of light emitting elements arrayed with prescribed intervals in a horizontal direction and a vertical direction and each of light receiving elements faced to the light emitting elements is interrupted by a light shielding object so that the coordinate position of the light shielding object can be detected. The nearest part N coordinate data obtained by detecting the movement of the light shielding object are stored, and the coordinate position of the light shielding object is calculated by using n coordinate data (1<=n<=N) among the N coordinate data, and the number of the coordinate data to be used for coordinate position calculation is changed according to the moving speed of the light shielding object.</p>
