PURPOSE:To prevent sticking at the time of high heat energy recording and to secure smooth running properties by adding a thermosetting acrylic resin and at least one of a salt of phosphite ester and a salt of phosphate ester to a heat-resistant protective layer as main components. CONSTITUTION:A sublimation type thermal transfer recording medium 1 is formed by providing a thermal transfer ink layer 3 consisting of a sublimable dye and a binder on the surface of a support 2 and further providing a heat- resistant protective layer 4 based on a thermosetting acrylic resin and at least one of a salt of phosphite ester and a salt of phosphate ester on the rear of the support. By heating the sublimation type thermal transfer recording medium 1 by a thermal head or laser, heat is transmitted to the thermal transfer ink layer 3 through the heat-resistant protective layer 4 and support 2 of the sublimation type thermal transfer recording medium 1 and the sublimable dye is sublimed and diffused from the ink layer 3 and the sublimed dye is transferred to an image receiving medium. The heat-resistant protective layer 4 of the sublimation type thermal transfer recording medium 1 contains the thermosetting acrylic resin and at least one of a salt of phosphite ester and a salt of phosphate ester. |
