PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable sensitive material less liable to generate pinholes in laser exposure, excellent in scuffing resistance and dimensional stability and giving an image having high Dmax and high contrast and excellent in dot image quality and to provide an image forming method using the photosensitive material. SOLUTION: In the heat developable sensitive material with an undercoat layer on the base and a photosensitive layer containing an organic silver salt, silver halide, a reducing agent and a contrast enhancer each dispersed in a binder on the undercoat layer, at least one binder selected from vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride and polyester resins each having 80-150 deg.C glass transition temperature and polyurethane and acrylic resins each having 55-150 deg.C glass transition temperature is contained in the undercoat layer.
