An elevator device, wherein a mounting metal (14) is fixed to the top of each of a pair of guide rails (3) and a machine base (11) is bridged between these mounting metals (14), a hoist (12) for raising and lowering a cage (4) and a balance weight (5) is suspended from the machine base (11) and supported on the guide rails (3), and a swing stopper (13) engaged with the guide rails (3) so as to prevent the hoist (12) from swinging is installed on the hoist (12).
