<p>An objective lens drive device, wherein first and second magnets form a magnetic gap so as to sandwich the outer surface of a focus coil having a tracking coil installed thereon and are disposed so that the different electrodes thereof are opposed to each other, whereby, because the thicknesses of the first and second magnets in the direction parallel with the substantial direction of a magnetic field between the first and second magnets opposed to each other are different from each other, the objective lens drive device can be reduced in size and increased in speed, and accurate servo-characteristics can be provided without producing an oscillation eliminating the need of a pitching mode and a yawing mode.</p> |
