PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing vibration damping device which fully suppresses the vibration of a bearing in a wide range of rotating speed and rotating load of a rotating shaft. SOLUTION: The direction and phase of the vibration of the bearing are detected by a position sensor, and the flow of lubricating oil is controlled corresponding to the direction and phase of the vibration, for suppressing the vibration of the bearing. A rotating system can be provided with an optimum vibration damping characteristic by changing the flow of the lubricating oil, and the vibration of the bearing can be suppressed fully. In the case that the rotating speed and rotating load change, the direction and phase of the vibration of the bearing are detected by the position sensor, and the flow of the lubricating oil is changed, corresponding to the direction and phase of the vibration to provide the rotating system with the optimum vibration damping characteristic. The vibration of the bearing can there by be fully suppressed over a wide fluctuation range of the rotating speed and rotating load.
