PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overload prevention device of boom type working vehicle A with a working machine C at the tip part 8b of an liftable boom 5 comprising a limiting means 44 detecting a load on an elevation driving means 9 and, when the load exceeds an allowable limit, limiting the operation of the elevation driving means 9 and capable of eliminating such a problem that the overload prevention device does not function when the load applied to the elevation driving means 9 exceeds the allowable limit by a load produced when the working machine C is operated though the device is effective for a load produced by the elevating operation of the boom 5. SOLUTION: This overload prevention device comprises a load detection means 51b detecting a load applied to an elevation driving means 9 and outputting a load signal, a storage means 52b storing the allowable value of the load, a comparing means 53b outputting a limiting signal when the detected load exceeds the allowable value of the load and a limiting means 54 limiting the operation of a working machine C when receiving a limiting signal.
