PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound which by selectively combines with a nicotinic acetylcholineα4β2 receptor of the central nervous system, activates the receptor, ameliorates cerebral function failures and is useful as a medicament for the prophylaxis or therapy of the cerebral function failure. SOLUTION: This compound is a compound represented by formula (I) (wherein A is an alkyl group allowed to be substituted, an aryl group allowed to be substituted or a heterocyclic group allowed to be substituted; B1 and B2 are each H, an alkyl group or hydroxyl group, or are combined with each other into carbonyl group; X is O, S, C or N; a dotted line shows the existence or nonexistence of a bond; n is the integer of 1 or 2; and -X-Y- is an alkylene or alkynylene cyclic bond or the like allowed to have various substituent) or a pharmacologically permissible salt thereof. The medicament comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of the compound and the salt as an active component.
