PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lip type seal where the entire abutting or damage of a seal lip 323 of an elastomer lip member 32 never occurs even if an inner space S1 is brought into a high-pressure state. SOLUTION: In this seal, a seal lip supporting part 38 having a tapered supporting surface 381a corresponding to a tapered inside surface 323a is mounted between the tip of a pressure-resistant reinforcing ring 33 supporting a body part 322 of the elastomer lip member 32 and the tapered inside surface 323a behind the tightly fitting surface to a rotation shaft 2 in the seal lip 323. The seal lip supporting part 38 is formed of a low-friction slide member and radially movably mounted. |
