PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for modifying the surface of a polyolefin resin so as to improve the adhesiveness of the surface. SOLUTION: This method comprises the following practice: an aqueous solution 10 of a polar group-containing compound is first contacted with the surface of a polyolefin resin 2, and the surface is then irradiated with laser beams 13, thereby a substitution reaction is caused between hydrogen atoms on the surface of the polyolefin resin 2 and the polar groups of the compound to effect introduction of the polar groups onto the surface of the polyolefin resin 2; thus the wettability of the surface of the polyolefin resin 2 is improved, resulting in improving adhesivity of the surface.
