PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger where performance and shape can be changed relatively easily, and efficiency is high, and an air conditioner. SOLUTION: In this heat exchanger that is composed of fins 11, 11,..., and heat transfer pipes 12, 12,..., and the longitudinal direction of the fins 11 is directed upward for installation, a form in terms of top view from the longitudinal direction of the fins 11 is set to a corrugated one where a plurality of arc-shaped parts 1a1 and 1a2 projecting in the same direction are connected, thus extending 'actual length' along the corrugated form than 'straight line length' in terms of top view, hence increasing a heat transfer area, and improving a heat exchange capacity. Also, when the requested heat exchanger capacity is set to the same value, the height dimension or width dimension of the heat exchanger can be reduced for miniaturization in the height or width direction. Further, in this air conditioner having a heat exchanger 1, the degree of design freedom in terms of capacity and shape can be improved.
