pH VALUE MEASURING ELEMENT AND SENSOR HAVING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pH measuring element and a pH sensor for measuring a pH value over a wide range by combining a proton sensitive phosphor compound with a single polymer bondable to it. SOLUTION: This pH value measuring element can measure a pH value over a wide range by chemically bonding a proton sensitive phosphor substance having a carboxyl group and an organic polymer having an amino group together. This pH sensor is provided with a light source radiating excitation light, a base board transmitting the excitation light from the light source, a fluorescence detection part arranged on the base board and provided with the pH measuring element showing an increase in fluorescence intensity under the excitation light according to a pH value, and a signal processing part processing an output signal from the fluorescence detecting part so as to output a signal indicating the pH value.
