PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an array substrate for a liquid crystal display device having high reliability and exhibiting a stable operation. SOLUTION: The array substrate 2 is manufactured by a process comprising a step to form a resin layer 15 showing water repellency in a part irradiated with light, a step to form a water repelling pattern corresponding to patterns R, G, B of a color filter region and a pattern 20 of a contact hole region by irradiating the resin layer with a laser beam, a step to color the unexposed parts of the resin layer by supplying dyes, a step to cure the resin layer, a photo-etching step to form a resist pattern of contact holes on the resin layer and to form the contact holes by etching and a step to form a film of a pixel electrode material on the resin layer and to form the pixel electrodes by patterning. |
