PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asphalt composition excellent in fluidity resistance and abrasion resistance (hardly causing ruts, and cracks), that is the one capable of improving the durability of a pavement, and further to provide a modifier for the asphalt suitable for obtaining the asphalt composition. SOLUTION: This modifier for the asphalt comprises a rubber such as a reclaimed rubber, and a wax such as a waxy material. The asphalt composition comprises, for example, a straight asphalt, and the modifier for the asphalt. The reclaimed rubber can be easily produced by cleaving sulfur-cross-linking points of the rubber molecules of a waste tire by using an autoclave, a twin- screw extruder or the like. The waxy material C is obtained by charging a basket 2 for burning with a prescribed amount of a raw material A, thermally decomposing a part of the raw material to provide a molten product B, and further thermally decomposing the molten product B in an oxygen-lacking state.
