PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method which can easily and efficiently separate and recover precious metals from a used in soluble metal electrode at a low cost. SOLUTION: In the treating method for recovering precious metals from the metal electrode having a covered layer of an electrode material containing precious metal oxides on a base material of the electrode formed of precious metals such as titanium, the metal electrode is cut to a predetermined size, and ground by the joint rubbing to peel the covered layer from the surface of the electrode base material. The precious metals such as pure titanium are recovered by completely removing the substances in the covered layer retained on the surface by the pickling.
