PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolllike recording medium and a recording device using the same capable of inputting set items related to the recording medium when printing is done automatically into a computer by merely setting the rolllike recording medium on a printer and learning a type of the rolllike recording medium set on the printer by merely confirming the printing set items in the computer. SOLUTION: Distinguishing information related to the rolllike recording medium 61 is read by merely setting a reading device 66 in a section of a magnetic tape 64 provided in an end part of a paper 62 at the step where the rolllike recording medium 61 is set on a support shaft 65 of a holder 67 of the recording device and is transmitted to the computer to set and display the set items for printing automatically. An operator can start the operation immediately by confirming the displayed set items.
