PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and reliable fire and smoke control device. SOLUTION: This fire and smoke control device comprises a protective case and a fireproof curtain having an upper end and a lower end, which is housed in the protective case together with the upper end fixed to the protective case and the lower end movable downward. When the case is set in a certain high position of a building, the lower end of the curtain is moved down, whereby the fireproof curtain can be extended.
