PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color print technology for printing fine dots at a high speed. SOLUTION: The ink jet printer comprises a nozzle array where unit nozzle arrays, each comprising ink nozzles of various colors required for color print arranged in the feeding direction (Y direction) of print sheet, are arranged at a constant interval in the widthwise direction of sheet (X direction: perpendicular to the feeding direction of sheet) and performs printing at an interval shorter than the interval P of unit nozzle array in the widthwise direction of sheet to form a high resolution print image. An ink jet line printer comprising a mechanism for printing at a higher density than the interval P of unit nozzle array is realized by oscillating a head in the X direction within a width equal to the interval P of unit nozzle array and performing printing two times or more within that width thereby performing printing at a higher resolution than the interval P. |
