PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a laminated coating film having excellent chipping resistance by controlling the affinity or reversal at the interface of an intercoat coating film and a topcoat coating film when both coating films are applied successively by a wet-on-wet method. SOLUTION: In the method for forming the coating film by successively forming the intercoat coating film, a base coating film and a clear coating film on a base material by a wet-on-wet method, an intercoat paint for forming the intercoat coating film and a base paint for forming the base coat film contain a coating film forming resin consisting of an amide group-containing acrylic resin and other coating film forming resin and a curing agent and the content of the curing agent in the respective paints is 20-100% by weight of the coating film forming resin on a solid basis.
