PURPOSE: To make transferable a high quality transfer pattern from a master carrier for magnetic transfer to a slave medium by means of a magnetic transfer regardless of the position of a magnetic pattern. CONSTITUTION: In the magnetic transferring method, a master carrier for magnetic transfer having a magnetic layer formed at a part corresponding to an information signal on a substrate and a magnetic recording medium being a slave medium which receives the transfer are brought into contact with each other. Magnetic field applied for the transfer satisfies the following relation between coercive force Hcs of the slave magnetic recording medium and the magnetic field for the transfer. 0.6xHcs <= the magnetic field for transfer <=1.3xHcs.
