In the past, in a data processing system using a logical language, a processor could only have access to a simple database of facts. In the present invention, a common database 30 is provided to which it is possible to have communal access with a multitude of different programs 13, 23, and the fact that a program has to have access to its own exclusive database 14, 24 or to the common database may be defined as a function of a certain symbol.
