The non-ionic surfactant system for a detergent system includes at least one linear alcohol alkoxylate and at least one branched alcohol alkoxylate. Also described is a detergent composition that comprises the non-ionic surfactant system described above. Also described is a low alkaline laundry system that comprises the detergent composition described above. Also described is a method of laundering soiled fabrics, the method including laundering the fabrics in a laundering solution including water and from 4 to 6 ml/kg based on dry fabric weight, of the laundry system described above.
