SOLUTION: When data bus signal lines of a SCSI bus 3 are so grouped that a data signal line group used for Narrow SCSI by SE is in an area 1, a data bus signal line group added to the area 1 for use for Wide SCSI by SE in an area 2, a data bus signal line group added to the area 1 for use for Narrow SCSI by LVD in an area 3, and a data bus line group added to the areas 1 to 3 for use for Wide SCSI by LVD in an area 4, a defective area specifying part 11 specifies the occurrence area of a parity error detected by a parity error detection part 5. A SCSI bus control part 14 sends a switching indication to a detection system switching part 12 and a bus width switching part 13 to exclude the area where the error occurs from the SCSI bus 3 and thus perform degeneration, for example, by switching the bus width of the SCSI bus 3 from Wide to Narrow or from LVD to SE to continuously transmit data.
