PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a staircase structure using a handrail bar very effective in assisting walkers in climbing up a staircase by allowing them to find the direction along a longitudinal axis by simply gripping the handrail bar, and an indoor structure allowing instantaneously determining the direction of an emergency exit. SOLUTION: The handrail bar is composed chiefly of a long bar-shaped member having a plurality of nonslip projections 2 provided in predetermined positions on its outer peripheral surface in longitudinally spaced relationship, with each of the projections formed to have a greater inclination angleαin one longitudinal direction P than an inclination angleβin the other longitudinal direction Q, on the longitudinal cross section of the bar-shaped member. Preferably,βis equal to or less than 45 degrees and smaller thanαandαis smaller than 90 degrees. In the staircase structure, P direction is the up direction of the staircase and the handrail with the projections facing down is provided. In the indoor structure, either P or Q direction is the direction toward the nearest exit and the handrail with the projections facing down is provided.
|
