PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive structure of a roll in a hot dipping bath causing no inclusion of the dross on a bath surface or no irregularities in the rotational speed when hot-dipping a steel plate or the like. SOLUTION: The drive structure is used for rotating the roll 6 in the bath dipped in a hot dipping metal bath 2. A stator 11 for generating the rotating magnetic field is disposed on a part of a support frame 7 of the roll 6 in the bath, and a rotor 16 generating the rotating torque by the effect of the rotating magnetic field caused by the stator 11 and having no slip ring thereon is integrated with a portion in the vicinity of a shaft end of the roll 6 in the bath.
