The walkway has a pivot (3) to connect one edge of the walkway with the frame. At each end of the walkway are flanges (4) to maintain the walkway horizontal. The pivot axis is below the flanges. A pin (5) is guided in translation and co-operates with a stop (6) to oppose movement of the walkway to a folded position. A spring (7) moves the pin to the active position. A lock (8) selectively holds the pin retracted .
