PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tray feeder for supplying an electronic part and a pickup method for an electronic part of the tray feeder, for shorter tact time and improved productivity. SOLUTION: A tray feeder 1 is provided wherein a pallet 15 is pulled out of a magazine 11 by a pull-out part 9 and supplied to a pickup position for a transfer head 21 of an electronic part mounting device 20. Here, when the pull-out part 9 reaches a level Hm which is set according to kind of electronic parts while related to falling start timing of the transfer head 21, the falling action of the transfer head 21 is started, and falling of the transfer head 21 completes at the timing when the rising end of the pull-out part 9 reaches the pickup position. Thus, wasteful time at pickup action is eliminated for shorter time required for pickup action of the electronic part 16.
