PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce radiation noise in a solid-state image pickup element. SOLUTION: The output stage of this solid-state image pickup element (CCD) is provided with a driving pulse generating part 907 for supplying 1st driving pulses (ϕ2B and RS) generated according to the 1st clock (clk) of a prescribed cycle, and a modulation driving pulse generating part 906 for supplying 2nd drive pulses (ϕ1 andϕ2) generated according to a 2nd clock (sclk) subjected to frequency modulation to the entire solid-state image pickup element or a part of the solid-state image pickup element other than the output stage.
