INTEGRATED LCD DISPLAY AND ELECTROLUMINESCENT MODULE

An integrated module (10) including a liquid crystal display (LCD) module (16) and an electroluminescent (EL) module (18) is provided. A polarizer layer (30) is disposed between the two modules and functions as both a polarizer for the LCD module (16) and an insulating substrate layer for a conductive layer (64) of the EL module (18). The integrated module (10) comprising the LCD module, EL module, and integrated polarizer layer may be used in cellular telephones (12) and personal data assistants (PDAs) (14).
