A passive infrared movement detector has one or more detector/lens structures with an infrared detector (3) having two or more sensitive elements (2) and convergent lenses (1) fitted in its angle of view, under which emission of rays can be received. To increase the number of zones (4) in the room under surveillance, two mirrors (6) fit in a detector-lens structure between the infrared detector and the convergent lenses at close right angles to each other.
