The apparatus for detecting and determining smell or odor propagation includes a measuring device (2) and between three and ten stationary weather stations (1). The weather stations have a wind direction measuring device (3), a wind speed measuring device (4), an air temperature measuring device (5) and a directional transmitter as a distance measuring device. The measuring device has three to seven devices for measuring smell concentration and a measuring station for air temperature and distance measurements. The measuring station is connected to a computer.
